A PATTERN '33 HOLBEIN DRESS DAGGER FOR THE S.A. ORGANISATION WITH THE SCARCE MAKER-MARK 'AESCULAP, TUTTLINGEN',
circa 1936, with double edged 8 1/2in. blade with good polish, the front of blade retaining its motto 'ALLES FUR DEUTSCHLAND', maker's signature to reverse, solid nickel fittings, the cross-guard marked with a small 'Sw' (for the Sudwest Gau or Region), brown wood grip with central eagle and swastika device and 'SA' roundel, complete with its metal scabbard originally finished with brown anodising (now mostly cleaned of finish), the nickel throat with suspension ring, missing liner, the drag dented at tip
